Scam Alert - Waco Check Scam
If you have been given a Waco check for purchase of a vehicle or other item you have for sale on the internet, it is most likely bogus and will be returned by our bank if you attempt to deposit it. The scammers typically send you a check for more than the amount of the purchase. They then ask that you deposit the check and use the difference to ship the item to them, or to send the balance back to them. When the check is returned by our bank, you will not be able to recover what you paid or what you shipped. There are other scams also being reported using Waco checks. One may be an offer of employment. Be aware of anything that looks suspicious. If you have any doubts about the validity of a Waco check, please call our corporate office at (888) 822-7285 and ask for the Accounting Manager for verification of a valid check.
